The MINI F-Series carbon fiber paddle shifters are a direct clip-on replacement for the factory paddle – no glue, no screws, no extra wiring – which is exactly why most owners do this themselves rather than book a shop visit. WHAT’S IN THE BOX
A set of paddle shifters – one left, one right side – machined from black-anodized aluminum with either a gloss or structured carbon fiber face, made to swap in for your existing F-Series paddles.
BEFORE YOU START
- Confirm you ordered the correct finish (gloss vs. structured) and that the part matches your chassis (F54/F55/F56/F56 GP3/F57/F60) before opening the box.
- Lay both paddles out and confirm which is left and which is right before you start – they’re handed, not identical parts.
- Park the car, ignition off, and work in a clean, well-lit space.
- Disconnect your battery’s negative terminal
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
This is a tool-light job – the product listing notes you’ll only need a handful of tools most owners already have at home. At a high level:
- Release the factory paddle from the steering column, following the video for your generation.
- Double-check you’re placing the left paddle on the left side and the right on the right.
- Press the new carbon fiber paddle into place until it seats fully against the column with no gap or rattle.
- Before driving, cycle both paddles by hand to confirm they click back cleanly, then test a few shifts at low speed before taking it on the road.
WHEN TO GET A PROFESSIONAL INSTEAD
If you’re not confident working around the steering column, that’s a completely normal reason to skip the DIY route – we work with a network of installer partners who can fit these for you. Send us a message and we can probably recommend a shop for you, but since this platform has been out for years now, any mechanic shop that works with MINIs would be able to help you.
